East Coast Vineyards: A Gorgeous PA Tour For Wine Enthusiasts

Wine and vacations go hand in hand, especially when that hand is holding a glass filled with delicious wines. It doesn’t matter if it’s a white or a red or even somewhere in between, as long as its filled. Although the West Coast is famous for some of the most regarded wines, the states along the East Coast are ripe with smaller, family owned vineyards that are perfect for an original vacation.

This is good news especially for those knowledge seekers who not only enjoy a new experience, but are also interested in the “field to fork” trend that is more popular than ever. Many vineyards feature wine and cheese pairings, wine tasting events and even wine festivals to celebrate the community’s love and appreciation of wine.

We’ve all heard of “bar hopping”, well for your next vacation or even weekend outing, jump on a bus with a few of your best friends, or in the car with your better half and get PA. vineyard hopping. Gorgeous scenery, delicious wines and welcoming vineyard owners are waiting for you to take a sip of their hospitality.

Hershey, Pennsylvania is not only the “sweetest place on Earth” but an area rich in must see vineyards. There are 12, yes 12 award winning, family owned wineries right in the rolling hills and gorgeous breathtaking mountain views of the surrounding area. Wineries such as Broad Mountain, Buddy Boy, Hummingbird Ridge and Blair are just a few of fabulous “trail of wineries” to visit. Not to mention so many other things to see and do in the area.

Pocono Mountains:  The Pocono Mountains is somewhat a wine enthusiast secret. There are seven family owned wineries amongst these gorgeous mountains to visit. Cherry Valley, Blue Ridge and Big Creek Vineyards are waiting for you to sip their one of a kind vino. The soil of the area is unique and creates the most unique, exquisite blends to taste and savor while taking in the breathtaking views. And if you are an adventurer with a love for the outdoors, The Pocono area will whet your appetite for hiking, biking, skiing and other outdoor related activities. Those who like to relax, can sip on the wine varieties, enjoy a massage while taking in the view from one of the area’s award winning lodges, too.
